Paul Walters runs the London Marathon |
Report from Saturday 12th April 2008
Sorta ready
It feels like I've been on my feet for half of the day, and my legs feel like they should be more rested. I'm feeling rather nervous about tomorrow, and hope that I can have a decent night's sleep, as I'm feeling rather knackered. I'm going to probably 9 minute mile tomorrow, keep the speed down and enjoyit - at least up to the latter stages of the race hopefully. I'm still expecting miles 20 to 26.2 to be very difficult, but I hope to get up to about 20 miles distance in tact. My main concern is my knees, which have been hurting at the end of my long runs, but tomorrow I'll just have to carry on regardless, and hopefully they'll see me through to the end. I've got over half way to my sponsorship target, so I'm hopeful of eventually reaching £1,000 in the next week or so should I manage to finish tomorrow. Fingers crossed then! |
