Paul Walters runs the London Marathon

Report from Thursday 16th March 2006

Disaster

Last Sunday I went out for an 18 mile run with my running club colleagues. This was not a massive increase in distance from my previous week in terms of distance, but it turned out to be a large increase in terms of time on my feet. Any how, after 16 miles, coming through Gatton Park on our way back to Reigate, my left knee felt very painful, and I managed to run to the top of Carlton Road before pulling up and phoning for a lift home.

I'm still not sure what I've done to my knee, but four days on it's still painful, and I'm seeing someone about it this evening. With just five and a half weeks to go to the big day, I am now just hoping for a quick recovery from this ailment, but I suppose I'll just have to wait and see how I get on - so far the recovery has been very slow, but I'm trying to ice it 3 times a day and rest it.

Fingers X'd!
